Flexibility to work nights and weekends.<br><br></p>\n<p><span>JOB SUMMARY</span></p>\n<p><span>Under the direct supervision of the Art/Special Events Manager, the Cultural Arts Assistant is responsible for assisting with special department programs, events, and initiatives. Scheduled hours up to 28 hours a week.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Assist with the event planning process</span></li>\n<li><span>Update Theatre/event forms, mailings or signage as necessary</span></li>\n<li><span>Attend event planning meetings</span></li>\n<li><span>Coordinate Theatre and event volunteers</span></li>\n<li><span>Oversee specified on-site event activities </span></li>\n<li><span>Secure and put together event materials </span></li>\n<li><span>Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, sponsors and Supervisor </span></li>\n<li><span>Perform the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules, and the employee handbook</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees</span></li>\n<li><span>Some nights and weekends required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Order supplies, such as giveaways or concessions, may require some driving </span></li>\n<li><span>Complete rental requests as needed</span></li>\n<li><span>Fill out check requests as necessary</span></li>\n<li><span>Perform other duties as directed by the Art/Special Events Manager</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Good knowledge of the Elk Grove Village Artists Association</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work in a team environment</span></li>\n<li><span>Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>High school graduate preferred</span></li>\n<li><span>Experience and knowledge of artistic mediums and how to coordinate an art show a plus</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>Elk Grove Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer</span></p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https://www.elkgroveparks.org/benefits-summary/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Summary of Benefits</a></span></p>",
