This position is ideal for a motivated, dynamic, and high-energy individual who thrives both on the court and in a retail environment. The Assistant Tennis Professional will play a key role in maintaining and growing the Club’s racquets program by delivering high-quality instruction, providing exceptional member service, and supporting pro shop operations. The ideal candidate will have collegiate playing experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with players of all ages and skill levels, including juniors and adult women’s programs.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ol><li>Provide private lessons, clinics, camps, and group instruction to members of all ages and skill levels.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in the planning and execution of junior and adult tennis programming.&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with the Racquets Director to develop appropriate lesson plans and instructional strategies.&nbsp;</li><li>Work a minimum of 12 hours per week in the Pro Shop, including inventory management and sales using Jonas.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide exceptional member service by assisting with racquet selection, stringing, shoes, apparel, and general racquets needs.&nbsp;</li><li>String racquets and maintain stringing equipment.&nbsp;</li><li>Promote tennis programming, events, and participation within the membership.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with racquets social events, tournaments, and outings.&nbsp;</li><li>Support daily court operations including maintenance such as &nbsp;sweeping courts, managing coolers, and trash removal.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain a visible, engaging, and enthusiastic presence with members both on and off the court.&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and professional manner.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned by the Racquets Director.&nbsp;</li></ol><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Expectations</strong></p><ol><li>Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to all scheduled lessons, clinics, and programs.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to Club dress standards.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrate enthusiasm and engagement with members at all times.&nbsp;</li><li>Display a willingness to work with players of all ages and skill levels.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.&nbsp;</li><li>Show initiative in assisting with pro shop operations and court maintenance.&nbsp;</li><li>Exhibit a strong desire to learn, grow, and develop as a teaching professional.&nbsp;</li></ol><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Environmental Demands</strong></p><ol><li>Work is primarily performed outdoors on tennis courts.&nbsp;</li><li>Exposure to extreme heat, humidity, and occasional cold or inclement weather.&nbsp;</li></ol><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Intellectual Demands</strong></p><ol><li>Collegiate playing experience preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher required.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to engage and instruct players of varying ages and abilities.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of tennis fundamentals, drills, and match play strategies.&nbsp;</li><li>Prior teaching or coaching experience preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from leadership.&nbsp;</li><li>Dependability, punctuality, and professionalism.&nbsp;</li><li>CPR and First Aid certification preferred.&nbsp;</li></ol><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><ol><li>Extended periods of standing, walking, and on-court activity (5–8+ hours daily).&nbsp;</li><li>Frequent running, bending, twisting, and reaching.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.&nbsp;</li></ol><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>This job description does not reflect all of the physical, intellectual, and environmental demands of the position, including equipment.
