Description

Our Job Corps programs provide life-changing services that help young people succeed in school, obtain good jobs, excel in their chosen fields, and serve as contributing members of their communities. We accomplish this through an intense commitment to safety, quality service, excellence, and partnerships. •    Assists with behavior modification efforts. •    Develops programs for retention and positive reinforcement of behaviors Monitors for behavior/disciplinary concerns. •    Meets with students to ensure successful matriculation through the program. •    Provide support to staff in resolving negative behavior of students. •    Monitor and maintain effective control through personal observations by making periodic checks of center wide activities as well as facilities, dormitories, cafeteria, etc. and report potential or existent non-resolved problems to the Safety/Security Manager and Center Director or designee. •    Serve as primary contact on Center for off-center individuals and for matters needing immediate investigation, advice, and decision. •    Supervises Center staff during evening and weekend hours and ensures staff and student accountability during the evening and weekend hours. •    Supervises center functions conducted on or off Center; and has the overall responsibility of ensuring Center safety. •    Ensures that all staff members are following the Center Standard Operating procedures along with corporate policies and procedures. •    Responsible for approving Reasonable Suspicion Drug Tests, when necessary, in accordance with Center SOPs and Policy Requirements Handbook (PRH). •    Ensures that all student accountability sheets are completed, audited, and forwarded to the Records Department as required. •    Takes the initial report of injury for all accidents and notifies the Center Director, and Human Resources Manager of all staff injuries and Wellness Director for program participant injuries. •    Ensures that all staffing for all departments is adequate, maintains contact with center management to ensure communication lines are open. •    Ensures that all center policies are met during the evening hours including but not limited to; lights out enforcement, dorm touring, recreation touring, and assisting with security functions. •    Responsible for compiling reports as required to document notable events. •    Responsible for assisting all staff with student issues, when necessary, maintains contact with the CSIO and corresponding management. •    Responds and coordinates to all center-based emergencies. •    Monitor and inspect Center equipment and material. Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills. •    Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property. •    Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. •    Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning. •    Attends all required staff training opportunities. •    Degree from a four-year college or university preferred, will accept an associate degree and one year work experience in Juvenile Justice or Human Services field. •    Five years’ experience may be considered in lieu of a degree if all other position requirements can be met. •    Experience working with diverse youth. •    A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
