    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Title / Function</span></span></p>\n<p><span>Project Engineer II (PE II)</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Supervisor</span></span></p>\n<p><em><span>Manager, Project Engineering (Manager/PE) or Regional Director, Engineering</span></em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mission</span></p>\n<p><span>Consistently coordinate the assigned engineering activities to complete the project’s design in compliance with the project schedule and with the budget, observing the correctness and completeness of the provided information.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Goals</span></span></p>\n<p><span>The PE’s goals can be summarized as follows:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br><span>Understand the scope of the work, the contract requirements, and the limit of supply;</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Coordinate all the Engineering activities to complete the design of the project.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Meet/improve the project schedule;</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Meet/improve the project budget intended for all engineering activities;</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Meet/improve the quality standards;</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Identify and submit possible “cost-effective” improvements in the design.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Quickness and flexibility in responses to urgent questions from PMs and from the sales department;</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Engineering team leader at the project level for both internal and/or external resources.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Become a technical “expert” in one or more areas of Anaergia’s technical offering.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Tasks, Authority, and Liability</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Project Engineer tasks:</span></span></p>\n<p>All tasks below for project engineer II are accomplished with direct supervision of a project engineer III or other technical lead on the project, as defined.  A Project Engineer II is expected to perform the tasks below with little guidance required and may function as a technical lead on a project under limited supervision from a PE III. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Arrange the general document list in agreement with the PM and in compliance with the contract and the external/internal resources availability;</span></li>\n<li><span>Plan the engineering activities for all assigned projects and monitor the activities' progress in compliance with the schedule defined in the general document list;</span></li>\n<li><span>Agree with the PM to define the budget assigned for the Project Engineering activities throughout the entire life of the project;</span></li>\n<li><span>Regularly update the PM on the status of the design and the remaining budget to identify possible risks in advance and plan solutions accordingly;</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide PMs with the technical specifications and tender documents for acquiring the materials expected for each project in accordance with the terms of supply and properly calculated according to the design data.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide technical support to clients as needed under the guidance of the PM;</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide technical review of all third-party design consultants;</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide technical review of equipment proposals and submittals;</span></li>\n<li><span>Check all the licensing documents and incorporate permit conditions;</span></li>\n<li><span>Coordinates regular design review meetings with the project team;</span></li>\n<li><span>Create a risk assessment for each project to identify risks and their mitigation. Make sure to comply with the local standards required for each specific project.</span></li>\n<li><span>Organize regular meetings (weekly) to share and update the progress of the engineering activities for all jobs, and point out any problems that emerge during the engineering development.</span></li>\n<li><span>Support of the site manager and subcontractors/vendors regarding specific technical questions on the project design;</span></li>\n<li><span>Organize regular meetings (bi-weekly) with the appropriate person responsible for each topic in order to submit improvements to technical aspects and build solutions. Involve the Project Engineering Leader (PEL) when necessary.</span></li>\n<li>Update the Project Engineering Leader (PEL) about the status of the project, the status of the budget, and any identified issues that require action from upper-level management.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>PE is authorized to:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Have T&amp;L costs in compliance with the function’s budget set by the PM.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Safety and Quality-related responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span>The Project Engineer is responsible for rigorously applying company rules and standards regarding engineering activities, providing accurate information, and complying with each project's contract requirements and specifications. </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>Compliance with safety is priority one for Anaergia.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span>During the entire design activity, the Project Engineer shall assess all aspects related to health risks and safety through all phases of the project (design, construction, operation, maintenance, and dismantling) and take actions to eliminate, mitigate, and advise all involved figures about the remaining risk.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Competence / Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education:</span><span> </span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Holds a technical diploma or graduation in<span> </span></span><span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Civil Engineering /</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span> </span>Mechanical<span> Engineering/ Chemical Engineering</span><span> , </span><span>or equivalent</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Experience:</span> 2 to 15 years as a Project Engineer in the Industrial Plant business.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Technical / Special Competences:</span></span></p>\n<p><span>The PE has the following technical skillsets:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Understanding of contract specification and identification of supply limits for the design activity of complex mechanical plants;</span></li>\n<li><span>Basis of Mechanical/Hydraulic design, Electrical Design, and Control systems;</span></li>\n<li><span>Knowledge about national and international regulations for the design of waste treatment, renewable energies, and biogas plants;</span></li>\n<li><span>Experience managing relationships with all parties involved in the project design;</span></li>\n<li>Fluent in English.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Cross-functional Competences:</span></p>\n<p><span>To execute the job with the “right sense of priority,” the Project Engineer shall understand how their activity affects other functions as well as how other functions can influence either positively or negatively, the achievement of the PE goals. Competencies include:</span><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Basic knowledge of “project management” and how the adopted solutions affect the project budget and schedule;</span></li>\n<li><span>Good understanding of sales strategies, how they influence the engineering process, and how the engineering process may affect sales;</span></li>\n<li><span>Familiarity with purchasing, identifying, and promoting purchasing strategies for products, contracting, and services, mainly based on the:</span>\n<ul>\n<li><span>High volume/value (synergies/ standardized products)</span></li>\n<li><span>Critical items (e.g., limited number of suppliers, Long Lead Items, etc).</span></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span>Biogas specific competencies;</span></li>\n<li><span>Waste Treatment specific competences;</span></li>\n<li><span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Waste Water Treatment Plant specific competences</span></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Hierarchy</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br><span>The Project Engineer reports to the Manager, Project Engineering (Manager/PE) or Regional Director, Engineering regarding the company’s organization chart, but he reports operationally to the Project Managers (PM) regarding the project’s organization chart.
