This role is ideal for individuals passionate about mental health who bring leadership experience or a background in mental health, psychology, social services, inpatient care, direct support, or similar roles. Embark Behavioral Health Alexandria is a \n<strong>residential treatment program for adolescent</strong>, providing a supportive, family-style environment that fosters connection, accountability, and personal growth. Our program focuses on helping youth navigate behavioral health challenges while building strong interpersonal and life skills.\n<p> </p>\n<p>Child Care Supervisors play a key role in ensuring <strong>safety, structure, and consistency</strong> on campus. This position leads a team of Residential Mentors, guiding daily operations while supporting students in their therapeutic journey.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as the lead staff on shift, ensuring smooth operations and completion of all necessary tasks.</li>\n <li>Supervise Residential Mentors by holding weekly meetings, providing feedback, and supporting their professional development.</li>\n <li>Support training and onboarding of new mentors.</li>\n <li>Monitor client whereabouts, safety, and emotional well-being through regular checks and documentation.</li>\n <li>Maintain the program schedule and structure by holding consistent boundaries.</li>\n <li>Communicate and document shift information effectively to support the team.</li>\n <li>Respond to crises using de-escalation skills and training.</li>\n <li>Provide behavioral and academic support during school hours.</li>\n <li>Plan and engage in extracurricular activities with students, such as arts, crafts, sports, and outdoor adventures.</li>\n <li>Occasionally support with meal prep or heating and serving meals in the kitchen.</li>\n <li>Assist with residential maintenance or administrative tasks as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Bachelor’s degree</strong> in social work, psychology, or a related field <strong>plus 2 years of experience</strong> working with children, including <strong>1 year in a residential setting</strong></li>\n <li><strong>High school diploma/GED</strong> <strong>plus 5 years of experience</strong> working with children, including <strong>2 years in a residential setting</strong></li>\n <li>An approved combination of <strong>education and relevant experience</strong> working with youth</li>\n <li>Experience working with <strong>at-risk youth</strong> or post-secondary training in mental health <strong>preferred</strong></li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field <strong>preferred but not required</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Comprehensive Benefit Program that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, voluntary life and AD&D insurance, long-term disability, 401K with company matching, EAP and paid maternal leave.</li>\n <li>Company Paid Holidays plus a PTO accrual schedule.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Embark is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
