Description

Position Summary The Assistant Director of Outreach, Community Engagement and Clinical Coordination position involves direct service to UIC students (brief counseling/psychotherapy, group therapy, case management, and outreach programming), consultation and liaison to faculty/staff/students, and the participation in supervision and training of Counseling Center postdocs, interns, and externs. This position will have important liaison responsibilities with all UIC departments to support the development of inclusive, preventative mental health initiatives, builds collaborative partnerships across campus and community systems, and expands access to care by connecting diverse populations with supportive resources and programming. This involves continuing and expanding the work of: 1) fostering connections for students to mental health services and supports, 2) creating new spaces and programs that support mental health and well-being, and 3) oversee outreach programming, supervise and train staff or peer. Duties Responsibilities •Oversight of administrative areas as needed within the Counseling Center, which may include but are not limited to, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), Group Therapies, Mind/Body Services, Peer Support Programs, Case Management, and Psychoeducation/Outreach. •Assist with providing case management and coordination of the center’s clinical services, including intake/assessment, short-term individual and group counseling, referral and follow-up, consultation, and crisis intervention to support continuity of care. •Assist with developing, maintaining, and monitoring the clinical case management infrastructure, including coverage schedules, workflows, and electronic medical record (EMR) processes to support timely access and coordination of services. •Assist with evaluating and monitoring clinical and case management services provided by the Counseling Center, including maintaining and updating the Policies and Procedures Manual to reflect best practices in coordinated mental health care. •Support in the administrative and functional supervision of staff, including Office Assistants, with attention to roles that support case flow, client access, and service coordination. •Support the AD of Outreach and Community Engagement in ensuring full compliance with mental health ethical standards, including maintaining confidential client records, data integrity, and adherence to all PA licensure and regulatory requirements. •Support in managing the Counseling Center’s electronic record system (Titanium and REDCap), including accurate collection of clinical and case management data, quality assurance of documentation, and use of records and statistics to inform service planning, decision-making, and coordination with university partners. •Engage in needs assessment and service outcome evaluation to support effective case management practices, clinical interventions, and student retention in care. •Serve on Divisional and University committees as appropriate, contributing a mental health case management perspective to campus-wide initiatives. •Build multicultural competency by intentionally supporting an inclusive climate within the Counseling Center, the Division of Student Affairs, and the UIC community, with attention to equitable access to care and culturally responsive case management. •Review leave requests and reports and conduct yearly performance reviews, with consideration of staff capacity, caseload balance, and service delivery needs. •Maintain electronic case records of clinical care and related correspondence for students on an individual clinical caseload. Collaborate to optimize reporting functions for case tracking, utilization, and statistical analysis. •Monitor trends in service utilization, diagnostic presentations, referral needs, and session frequency to inform treatment planning and case management decisions. •Perform other duties as assigned.
