Description

The Division of Humanities and Fine Arts at Keuka College seeks adjunct instructors to teach courses in Spanish and Latin American culture, including literature, either in person or online. We value quality in teaching, and we thus seek enthusiastic faculty who enjoy working closely with an undergraduate population. A Master’s degree in Spanish or a relevant field is required; doctorate preferred. College teaching experience required. Keuka College has a strong commitment to principles of diversity and encourages applications from groups underrepresented in higher education. AA/EOE Specific Responsibilities: Instruct introductory- or mid-level courses in Spanish and Latin American culture and literature; Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus, goals, and objectives; Design, administer, and grade essays, examinations, and applicable projects to accurately assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus; Provide clear documentation of student progress through regular and frequent feedback, academic warnings, and midterm progress reports as necessary; Create an inclusive classroom environment conducive to culture and language learning, which actively engages students; Contribute to program and General Education assessment of student learning outcomes based on signature assignments in courses; Maintain regular office and language lab hours to meet one-on-one with students; Assist with extracurricular cultural programs as needed to complement classroom learning; Work with the program faculty to ensure instructional quality and program quality; Adhere to College policies and procedures. Physical Requirements: Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
