    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Crane Operator</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>The Crane Operator is responsible and accountable to the Yard Supervisor</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Supervises:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>None.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Description of Duties:</strong></p>\n<p>The Crane Operator is responsible to maintain and operate overhead crane and forklift to lift, move and position loads in a safe manner.</p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Plan, specify, and position rigging equipment for accomplishing work in a safe and efficient manner.</p></li>\n <li><p>Operating cranes to offload and backload tugs, barges, and etc.</p></li>\n <li><p>Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal or signal instruction.</p></li>\n <li><p>Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overloading.</p></li>\n <li><p>Clean, lubricate, and maintain the crane, including mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary.</p></li>\n <li><p>Inspect cables or grappling devices for wear and install or replace cables as needed.</p></li>\n <li><p>Complete daily checklist, delivery logs, maintenance schedule and all other necessary paperwork neatly and accurately.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintaining the appearance of the forklift and crane by keeping it clean, free of debris and painted.</p></li>\n <li><p>Follow all safety procedures during all crane and forklift operations.</p></li>\n <li><p>Know and understand McAllister’s Safety Policy and comply with all the requirements of the Quality Safety Management System.</p></li>\n <li><p>Assisting other departments as needed.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensuring personnel under your direction work in a safe and efficient manner.</p></li>\n <li><p>Other duties as assigned.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Proven experience working with an overhead crane, in all types of weather conditions.</p></li>\n <li><p>Licensed as required under federal, state and local law.</p></li>\n <li><p>Crane Operator Certificate from a nationally recognized and accredited certification program preferred.</p></li>\n <li><p>Current Transportation Workers Identification Card.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.</p></li>\n <li><p>The employee will frequently use both hands to grasp rails while climbing, to hold and carry tools equipment, to operate tools and machinery.</p></li>\n <li><p>The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds or more on a consistent basis.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Training Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>New Hire Familiarization Checklist (MCA-001)</p></li>\n <li><p>Crane Operator Training</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>FLSA Status:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Non-Exempt</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>*This position description does not promise or imply that the functions listed are the only duties to be performed or that the position may not change or be eliminated.
