TITLE: DUI Evaluator Liaison Casework Officer
DIVISION: Sworn Staff
GRADE: PSI and PSB
SALARY: $67,308
UNION: AFSCME LOCAL 3696
REPORTS TO: DUI Evaluation and Monitoring Unit Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY:
The DUI Evaluator Liaison Casework Officer is responsible for interviewing persons arrested for DUI and preparing a written evaluation for the Court identifying substance abuse severity, criminal risk, and public safety risk. Additionally, other alcohol/drug assessments may be performed including Secretary of State updated evaluations and letters of denial. These assessments will be conducted in accordance with the Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse rules and Circuit Court rules. The DUI Evaluation Liaison will compile and communicate all pertinent data to the court in regard to the evaluation process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interview clients scheduled for evaluations. Administer standardized assessment instruments. Investigate criminal histories and Driving Abstract records. Assess and identify issues related to substance use including the history of use, motivation, and mental health issues. Compose reports based on client interviews, standardized testing, and identified risk factors. Refer clients to services to address identified needs. Organize, review, and modify information for presentation to the Court. Appear in court regarding questions related to the evaluation process per Social Service Department guidelines. Maintain records related to all court appearances. Complete drug testing as ordered by the Court. Conduct intake interviews for evaluation clients and enters information into the Evaluation Case Management System. Attend required trainings. Participates in activities related to maintaining both personal and agency licensure. Perform other assigned duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and verify placement on the State Hiring List overseen by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. IAODAPCA, Certified Assessment/Referral Specialist (CARS), CADC, LPC, LCPC, LSW, or LCSW Certification/Licensure is required. Possess working knowledge of the criminal court system, and probation policies and procedures. Possess excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate sensitivity to issues related to confidentiality. Possess the ability to operate various computer systems utilized by the department. Possess a valid Illinois Driver’s license and the availability of an insured motor vehicle. In the future, some evening and/or Saturday hours may be required. As a condition of employment, you must be certified by the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts https://www.illinoiscourts.gov/documents-and-forms/employment-application/ and Office of Statewide Pretrial Services https://www.ilosps.gov/justice-partners/pretrial-eligible-application/ . The DUI Evaluation Liaison will compile and communicate all pertinent data to the court in regard to the evaluation process.</span></span></div><div style=\"text-align:left;\"><br><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\"><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></span></span></div><ul><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Interview clients scheduled for evaluations.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Administer standardized assessment instruments.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Investigate criminal histories and Driving Abstract records.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Assess and identify issues related to substance use including the history of use, motivation, and mental health issues.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Compose reports based on client interviews, standardized testing, and identified risk factors.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Refer clients to services to address identified needs.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Organize, review, and modify information for presentation to the Court.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Appear in court regarding questions related to the evaluation process per Social Service Department guidelines.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Maintain records related to all court appearances.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Complete drug testing as ordered by the Court.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Conduct intake interviews for evaluation clients and enters information into the Evaluation Case Management System.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Attend required trainings.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Participates in activities related to maintaining both personal and agency licensure.</span></span></li><li style=\"text-align:left;\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">Perform other assigned duties as needed.</span></span></li></ul><div style=\"text-align:left;\"><br><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman', Times, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt;\">The duties listed are not set forth for limiting the assignment of work.
