A BI Developer who designs, develops, and maintains business intelligence solutions, including data analytics platforms and reporting tools. They translate business needs into technical specifications and create visualizations and reports. Proficiency in database management systems and BI technologies is required. &nbsp;These include dashboards, data visualizations, regular and impromptu reports, and data querying tools for users to the information they require.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><ul><li>Designing and developing business intelligence solutions</li><li>Writing and testing requirements</li><li>Developing and maintaining data processing</li><li>Implementing and maintaining databases</li><li>Maintaining and improving tools for system analysis</li><li>Collaborating with other teams to meet the needs of customers</li><li>Perform SQL queries - design, code, test, and aggregate the results to create useful information</li><li>Write technical documents on database content</li><li>Map various databases used in the organization</li><li>Develop, design, and analyze data architecture and data warehouses</li><li>Assesses current and future data processing needs for the company.</li><li>Translate business needs to technical specifications</li><li>Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)</li><li>Maintain and support data analytics platforms</li><li>DB/DBA background</li><li>Business analysis skills</li><li>Debugging/troubleshooting skills</li><li>Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)</li><li>Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting</li><li>Evaluate and improve existing BI systems</li><li>Collaborate with teams to integrate systems</li><li>Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses</li><li>Create visualizations and reports for requested projects</li><li>Develop and update technical documentation</li><li>Maintains contacts with all user departments, software/hardware vendors, and other systems representatives.</li></ul><p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong>There are no supervisor responsibilities with this position.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS: &nbsp;</strong>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. &nbsp;(The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. &nbsp;Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Minimum of a Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in BI development</li><li>Experience with large data sets, dimensional modeling</li><li>Experience with business intelligence tools</li><li>Strong analytical skills</li><li>Experience with automated testing</li><li>Experience with writing complex queries</li><li>Understanding of SQL and relational databases</li><li>Strong knowledge of data analysis and visualization</li><li>Strong knowledge of ETL and data modeling</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong experience with debugging and issue resolution</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Works in a strong team environment.</li><li>Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to work force.</li><li>Adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong communication skills in order to describe complex technical information to the non-BI developers in the company. Therefore, being able to communicate clearly and effectively is also an extremely required skill in this field.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer documentation, hardware operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write business reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, vendors and employees of the organization.</li><li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.</li><li>Problem solving skills required.&nbsp;</li><li>Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining</li><li>In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework</li><li>Expertise with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI)</li><li>Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)</li><li>Experience with JET Reporting Services</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</strong>&nbsp; Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree (B.S/B.A.) in Computer Science or equivalent for four-year college or technical school. Requires knowledge and skill in current technologies used by the company or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS:</strong>&nbsp; Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. &nbsp;Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. &nbsp; Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization. &nbsp;Requires excellent grammar and spelling.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Mathematical Skills:</strong> Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
