The CRNA is responsible for all activities involving direct patient care such as surgical anesthesia and pain management and those which involve indirect patient care such as care of and ordering anesthesia equipment, supplies, and other duties deemed necessary.<br />\n<br />\n<strong>What you will do</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Performs and documents pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies, selecting, obtaining, ordering and administering pre-anesthetic medications and fluids; and obtaining consent for anesthesia.</li>\n\t<li>Develops and implements an anesthetic plan including general, regional, local and sedation.</li>\n\t<li>Selects, applies and inserts appropriate monitoring modalities for continuous patient evaluation.</li>\n\t<li>Selects and administers anesthetics, adjuvant and accessory drugs and fluids deemed necessary to manage the anesthetic.</li>\n\t<li>Manages patient&rsquo;s airway and pulmonary status using current practice modalities and guidelines.</li>\n\t<li>Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia by appropriate selection and administration of medications, fluids and ventilation support.</li>\n\t<li>Discharges patients from post-anesthesia care area and provide post-anesthesia follow-up and care.</li>\n\t<li>Implements pain management modalities.</li>\n\t<li>Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency drugs, and using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.</li>\n\t<li>Participates in quality and performance improvement, educational and research efforts.</li>\n\t<li>Participates in departmental, institutional, and organizational committees as assigned.</li>\n\t<li>Consults and works collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers in compliance with iRESPECT standards to coordinate and implement activities, promote patient/customer satisfaction and to develop an effective treatment plan. Provides direction to other personnel and reviews medical records to verify that patient&rsquo;s care plan and medical needs are being met.</li>\n\t<li>Documents and updates medical and patient charts.
