Join us in our mission to transform lives and strengthen communities for thousands of families, seniors, veterans, transitional age youth, and individuals coming from homelessness in California.</em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">In this role, you will be working closely with individuals who are currently experiencing or transitioning from homelessness. This population often faces significant challenges, including difficulties adhering to societal norms related to hygiene, personal space, and polite conversation. We are looking for team members who can set boundaries with clients, while also being committed to fostering a supportive environment that promotes dignity, trust, and understanding.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Location: Indio, CA</span></p>\n<p><span>Status: Full Time, Hourly</span></p>\n<p><span>Wage: $21/hr + Benefits</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Primary Objective of Position:</span></p>\n<p><span>The Resident Services Coordinator will develop and implement programs that will serve children, families and seniors living in our apartment community. Jamboree Housing Corporation is seeking a person to work 40 hours a week organizing educational and socialization activities.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Major Areas of Accountability:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Assess the needs of the residents via a resident interest survey and personal interviews.</span></li>\n<li><span>Plan and direct on-site resident meetings, social activities, and educational programs for children, adults, and seniors.</span></li>\n<li><span>Identify community resources that will help the residents maintain their housing—such as low-cost health insurance, food programs, employment, government entitlements—and assist them with the applications.</span></li>\n<li><span>Facilitate and supervise virtual programs.</span></li>\n<li><span>Develop a calendar and articles for the monthly community newsletter.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain, developed and foster positive professional working relationships with property managers, community partners and volunteers.</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain organization of physical space and administrative paperwork.</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist the residents in using the on-site computer lab.</span></li>\n<li><span>Outreach to community by means of automated calls, flyers and by going door to door.</span></li>\n<li><span>Refer residents to such agencies; encouraging and supporting follow through.</span></li>\n<li><span>Collect and report data information regarding resident and volunteer programs.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide a safe and nurturing environment for youth between the ages of 6-17.</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide homework assistance.</span></li>\n<li><span>Implement curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for children of various ages and abilities in the following categories: Health and Wellness, Art and Crafts, Multiculturalism, Service Learning, Technology, and Performing Arts</span></li>\n<li><span>Recruit and supervise volunteers.</span></li>\n<li><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Level of Education, Experience and Skill Set:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Excellent communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Bilingual preferred</span></li>\n<li><span>Over 21 years of age</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to interact in a culturally diverse community</span></li>\n<li><span>Preferably 2 years of youth development experience with youth ages 6-18</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work independently with limited supervision</span></li>\n<li><span>A. Degree; or pursuing a BA degree or equivalent; or equivalent experience low income individuals</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Job includes some evening and weekend hours and travel throughout California</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Demands:</span></p>\n<p><span>The Resident Services Coordinator is required to talk and hear.  The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel.  The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, twist, lean, move from one location to another and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision.  Ability to operate a computer keyboard, and lift files and reports. Exposure to glare from a computer. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
