Their work is essential to the success of our projects as they create the “skeleton” various trades must rely on to execute their duties – as well as many of the finishing touches on the product we present to our clients. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Understand basic carpentry methods working with a variety of materials, including wood, plastics, concrete, and steel.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Experience working within a commercial construction crew.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Measure, take-off quantities, and organize materials for various construction activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Layout and construct rough framing – including roofs, eves, and stairs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Join materials with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Build bracing, barricades, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Position, join, and align structural components such as structural steel or pre-cast concrete.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Install manufactured windows, skylights, and other exterior enclosure accessories.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Install weather barrier assemblies and siding assemblies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Selective demolition of buildings and other structures using hand tools and various types of equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Operate tools of all types: rotary-hammers, circular saws, reciprocating saws, beam saws, table saws, planers, nail guns, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Work in varied and inclement weather conditions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Work near moving mechanical parts and within loud noise levels.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Other tasks as directed.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Build, position, and dismantle wood and modular steel concrete formwork.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Place concrete.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Mix ingredients to create compounds or covering or cleaning surfaces.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces, such as concrete or wood.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\"><em>(r</em><em>equired for FINISH CARPENTRY specialists – <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">desirable, but not required</span></span> to be eligible for CARPENTER)</em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Build and install window frames, doors, staircases.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Install molding and other finishes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Mount locks and other hardware.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Fit and install miscellaneous furnishings, i.e.: bulletin boards, shelves, bookcases, etc.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">“Journeyman” level carpentry experience - carpentry apprenticeship completion is desired, but not mandatory.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">At least two years carpentry apprenticeship training, or other experience in commercial carpentry.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Drawing and specification interpretation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Proficient knowledge of construction math and geometry – including use of construction calculator.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Proficient knowledge of building layout tools and techniques.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Proficient knowledge of rough framing layout – including roofs, eves, and stairs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Understanding of basic building codes relating to carpentry activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Hands on experience with various hand tools, including, but not limited to: hammer, angle, chalk line, string line, cat’s paw, 7 ¼” electric circular saw, rotary-hammers, beam saws, reciprocating saws, table saws, planers, nail guns, chisels, drills, sanders, etc.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica; font-size: 15px\">Supply basic hand tools (work bag, hammer(s), angle, chalk line, string line, cat’s paw, 7 ¼” electric circular saw, chisel, hand saw, builder’s level, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;
