If you&rsquo;re detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and ready to grow your skills, especially in areas like heat treatment and advanced testing, this is a role where your work truly matters.</span></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Laboratory Testing is hiring a Mechanical Testing Technician. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and quality are most important. The technician will use measuring equipment like micrometers and calipers, following detailed work instructions. The technician also performs tensile, elevated tensile, stress rupture, hardness, charpy, and other testing on material samples provided by customers in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures. A background in heat treatment operations is a plus, as this role may include supporting heat treat work as LTI continues to invest in expanded thermal processing capabilities.</span></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\"><strong>This is a first shift role, working Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm at the facility in Hatfield, PA.</strong></span></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\"><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Follows all applicable and required specifications and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance to test requirements.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Ensures that the test equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any tests. Informs the supervisor whenever any equipment is found to be out of calibration or in need of repair.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Analyzes and documents test results, consults with supervisor as necessary.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Monitors ever changing scheduled completion dates and times to insure that established schedules are met. The supervisor must be notified sufficiently in advance whenever the schedule for a job might not be met.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Inputs required data into LabMan accurately and on a timely basis.</li></ul></div><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Assists with maintaining test equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and repair maintenance as required.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Understands and complies with LTI&rsquo;s QA Program at all times.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Follows all safety rules and regulations; utilizes personal protective equipment.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Ask questions when uncertain as how to proceed with tests.&nbsp;</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\"><br></span></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></span></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 21.5px;\"><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">2-5 years testing experience preferred or equivalent</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Must be capable of a few advanced types of mechanical testing as assigned by the Mechanical Testing Supervisor. Such as Charpy impact, Non-Ambient Tensile testing, Heat treat, Stress Rupture/Creep, Pin Bearing per E238 etc. Hands-on involvement with heat treatment operations including furnace operation, specimen conditioning, and process verification is an integral part of this role given LTI&rsquo;s consistent heat treat workload.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Proficiency with Micrometer and vernier calipers required.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\">Must meet citizenship eligibility required by accrediting bodies.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:31.5pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px; font-family: tahoma, sans-serif;\"><strong>Preferred: &nbsp;</strong>Experience with heat treatment processes, furnace operation, or thermal conditioning including oil quench or atmosphere-controlled environments.
