We produce sustainable and innovative projects that assist disadvantaged communities with access to safe drinking water and promote sustainable water resources through water recycling and indirect potable reuse.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our primary mission is to create a lasting impact on society. This includes the promotion of water recycling and the implementation of indirect potable reuse initiatives. By taking a forward-thinking approach, we aim to mitigate water scarcity and secure the future of our planet's most vital resource.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If you are a recent graduate or have a few years of experience in the water or wastewater industry, we encourage you to consider applying for the <em>Assistant Engineer</em> role here at NV5, as it is a great opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects, and to learn from and work with experienced engineers and scientists. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Work within a team of highly experienced and creative engineers to problem solve, analyze, and evaluate projects from planning through construction.</li>\n <li>Assist with the planning and design of challenging drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, including preparing Preliminary Engineering Reports, Plans, Specifications and Estimates for:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Drinking water infrastructure: wells, storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, pressure reducing stations, and water treatment facilities.</li>\n   <li>Wastewater infrastructure: wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.</li>\n   <li>Recycled water infrastructure: storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, and pressure reducing stations.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Assist project engineers with other project tasks, such as:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Analyzing and evaluating hydraulic calculations and hydraulic models.</li>\n   <li>Performing research and field investigations.</li>\n   <li>Analyzing and formulating technical documents and reports.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Coordinate with other disciplines for project development, including geotechnical engineering, land surveying, electrical engineering, and structural engineering. </li>\n <li>Occasional field visits and inspections to assess infrastructure deficiencies, project progress, and problem solve issues.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and/or Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a concentration in water/wastewater</li>\n <li>2-3 years of progressive relative water/wastewater infrastructure design experience</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Innovyze InfoSewer/InfoWater, and ArcGIS</li>\n <li>Understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks</li>\n <li>Passionate about water/wastewater</li>\n <li>Participation in professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers, Water for People, Engineers Without Borders, etc.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Certifications/Licenses:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Possession of an Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate</li>\n <li>Desire to obtain a California PE license</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>The pay range for this California position is <strong>$33.65 - $43.27 per hour. </strong></em>Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All local employment laws apply.
