    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">A <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Superintendent</span> is responsible for directing all earthwork, installations, and construction activities on projects. They supervise and manage the field personnel as required to successfully complete construction on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, documentation, and communication with all trade and field personnel.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Whitaker Construction</span>, founded in 1953, has over 70 years of experience in the heavy civil and underground utility construction industry. Whitaker, an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company, has become one of the largest contractors in the intermountain area with more than 600 employees and nearly 70 crews. We perform sanitary sewer, storm drain, culinary water, irrigation, earthwork, roadway construction, dams, landfills, natural gas pipelines, industrial piping, and telecommunication projects primarily in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, and Oregon.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Roles and Responsibilities: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><em>Including but not limited to the list below.</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Read and understand plans, specifications, and local building codes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Read, understand, exemplify, and enforce safety policies and practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Schedules and documents all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Comply with and document environmental permits and inspections.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Completes daily reports such as units complete, safety reports, EEO meetings and weekly unit cost worksheets.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Read and understand global project schedules and generate two-week construction schedules weekly.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Schedule and order materials, inspections, and manpower to meet and/or exceed project schedules and specifications.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Track delivery, use and completion of rentals on the job.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Complete regular performance reviews for employees under his/her/their direction in a complete and timely manner. Ensures the employee understands the review, signs the review form(s), and is provided a copy for their own records.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Confers with personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Complete 20 hours per year of continued education relating to our field.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Attend weekly Superintendent meetings and participate actively.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain professional attitude with owners, inspectors, public, and company personnel.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisors.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">  </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Skills and Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is strongly preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Those with an education and/or work-related credential from a secondary or post-secondary educational system will be given preferred interview status (Precision Exams, NOCTE, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">5+ years of Construction/Project Management experience in a civil construction environment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of Heavy Civil Construction processes and industry standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) &amp; other computer skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Experienced in scheduling, ordering materials, field supervision, safety management, quality control, and budgeting of all phases of civil construction.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Strong attention to detail including good analytical and organizational skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to supervise earthwork/site work construction projects from general plans and instructions given and to determine the proper amounts of various materials, tools, and personal equipment needed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment operated.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to read engineering plans and blueprints.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Inter, sans-serif;
