    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>This Opportunity</strong></p><p>WSP is currently initiating a search for a&nbsp;<strong>Full Time Assistant Resident Engineer&nbsp; </strong>for our&nbsp;<strong>Antioch, California</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;office.&nbsp; Be involved in projects with our&nbsp;PMCM Team&nbsp;and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.&nbsp;&nbsp;The position can be located within the San Francisco Bay Area, greater Sacramento area, or the Central Valley.&nbsp;&nbsp; WSP has offices in Antioch, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Roseville, and Stockton.&nbsp;&nbsp;Projects may span multiple disciplines, such as roadway/highway and transit/rail construction.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Must be knowledgeable of various client construction specifications and contract management.</li><li>Supervise, develop and train field staff and other construction support staff assigned to a project.</li><li>Supervise and conduct the inspection and review of work in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specifications</li><li>Responsible for field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, surveying, and quality control on one large or several small construction projects.</li><li>Verify and review project documentation for acceptance including pay applications, change orders, submittals, shop drawings, cost reduction proposals, traffic control modifications, and others.&nbsp;</li><li>Act as the primary point of contact between the client, project team, and contractors.</li><li>Manage the construction management team, including sub-consultants.</li><li>Review and make recommendations for contractors' project schedules and non-conforming work</li><li>Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors</li><li>Meeting with prospective clients to learn about future CM pursuit opportunities</li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures</li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.</li></ul><p>#LI-TD1</p><p><strong>Who You Are</strong></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field experience or equivalent</li><li>A minimum of 10 &nbsp;years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)&nbsp;</li><li>A working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. Caltrans)</li><li>Demonstrated ability to read and interpret contract documents</li><li>Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials</li><li>Effective oral and written communication skills</li><li>Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies</li><li>Valid drivers’ license</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Experience in local municipalities and/or Caltrans</li><li>Background in construction management, architecture, or engineering fields.</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California.</li><li>Familiarity with e-Builder, MS Office , MS Project and other PC software used on design and construction projects</li><li>Bridge and highway construction inspection experience</li></ul><p>This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.</p><p><strong>WSP Benefits:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
