You'll work closely with licensed elevator mechanics, gaining the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to become a certified professional in the field.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>\n<p>As an <strong>Elevator Apprentice</strong>, you will:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist a licensed elevator mechanic in <strong>installation, modernization, service, or maintenance</strong> of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways.</li>\n<li>Learn to <strong>assemble, install, repair, and maintain</strong> electric and hydraulic freight or passenger elevators and related equipment.</li>\n<li>Maintain and submit <strong>weekly on-the-job training sheets</strong>, signed and approved by your supervising mechanic.</li>\n<li>Stay actively engaged in related instruction, following the program's schedule and guidelines.</li>\n<li>Adhere to all <strong>safety guidelines, policies, and procedures</strong> as directed by your supervisor and Delaware Elevator professionals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Age Requirement</strong>: Must be at least 18 years old.</li>\n<li><strong>Education</strong>: High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n<li><strong>Skills</strong>: Mechanically inclined, with experience using basic and power tools.</li>\n<li><strong>Physical Requirements</strong>: Fit-for-duty, comfortable with heights, and able to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.</li>\n<li><strong>Travel</strong>: Ability to travel out of town as needed, with some overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.</li>\n<li>Must successfully pass <strong>drug screenings, background checks</strong>, and skill assessments.
