Description

Overview Since its founding in 1992, Edgewood Properties has established itself as a leading real estate development and property management company. With corporate headquarters in New Jersey, the company is on a course of growth leading to activities across the nation. Given ongoing construction and development plans, our current apartment portfolio of 6,000 plus units is expected to double in the next couple of years and rise to over 12,000 units in the next five years. Given our rapid portfolio growth, coupled with ownership's desire to develop and hold rather than sell, the timing is ideal for qualified candidates to come on-board. We're currently seeking an Interior Designer Level 2 4-7 years of professional interior design experience Position Summary Edgewood Properties' Design Team creates exceptional amenity spaces across our luxury residential portfolio - environments built around a genuine hotel living experience. The work spans model homes, corporate suites, resort-style pools, state-of-the-art fitness centers, game rooms, and more. It's a portfolio that designers are proud to work on, and the team behind it is collaborative, talented, and driven. This is a mid-level role with real ownership. The Interior Designer Level 2 manages multiple projects simultaneously, leads CD set production, oversees FF&E sourcing, and supports a direct report - all while staying hands-on with the design work itself. The right candidate has grown past pure execution and is ready to take on coordination, mentorship, and accountability for quality across a project from start to finish. Leadership here is accessible and invested; the expectation is that you'll grow into increasing responsibility over time. Visit our website to view our portfolio! www.edgewoodproperties.com/residential-properties/ Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Design Leadership & Project Delivery Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, balancing design quality, schedules, and stakeholder expectations across all phases. Help develop project programs and design requirements at the outset of each engagement, setting a clear foundation for execution. Create complete construction document (CD) sets for submittal to senior staff, including space plans, floor covering plans, RCPs, electrical plans, and concept elevations. Research, interpret, and apply construction codes to drawing documents prior to submittal. Adhere to and enforce established design standards and procedures across all project work. Visualization & Presentation Develop 3D models to support and communicate overall design concepts through all project phases. Prepare digital and physical presentation boards and layouts for design review meetings and ownership approvals. Convey design intent clearly and consistently from concept through construction installation. Construction & FF&E Coordination Provide construction support and installation oversight to ensure design compliance in the field. Lead FF&E product sourcing and specification, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to meet design, budget, and schedule requirements. Coordinate with architecture, engineering, and construction teams to ensure design solutions are integrated and buildable. Team Development & Collaboration Manage up to one direct report, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and day-to-day support. Mentor junior associates, sharing technical knowledge and helping them develop their skills and professional judgment. Collaborate effectively across internal resources, vendor partners, and remote teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward. Qualifications Requirements & Qualifications Essential Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program. 4-7 years of professional interior design experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated construction knowledge and understanding of how design decisions affect the build process. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred 2-3 years of experience in multifamily residential or hospitality interiors. Project management experience. Prior experience managing or mentoring junior staff. Ability to influence and collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and remote stakeholders. In return, we offer competitive compensation, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental and vision benefits, life insurance, a 401(k) with company match and a corporate team environment with opportunity of advancement. Also includes on-site company fitness gym, discounts on housing and home appliances. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
