We are guided by the following principles: Customer Obsession.; Excellence is the Standard.; Bias for Action.; Act Boldly.; Deliver Results.; Hire and Develop the Best.; Be Curious and Learn.; Win as a Team Job Summary The Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the operations team responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting order fulfillment, and providing reliable data to cross-functional partners including Sales, Customer Service/Order Entry, Demand Planning, and Warehouse Control. This role requires hands-on experience in inventory management and a strong ability to communicate inventory positions, flag risks, and support day-to-day operational execution. Job Responsibilities Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory levels across distribution centers and channels Perform and support inventory transactions, cycle counts, and reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances Monitor inventory trends to identify potential risks such as shortages, excess stock, and obsolescence Collaborate with Demand Planning to help align inventory levels with forecasted demand and make allocation decisions with Order Management when need based on Demand Planning. Order Processing & Fulfillment Support end-to-end order processing to ensure accurate, timely fulfillment Assist in resolving order discrepancies, allocation issues, and customer-impacting exceptions in partnership with Customer Service/Order Entry Adhere to internal SOPs, SLAs, and customer-specific requirements Cross-Functional Communication Serve as a reliable point of contact for inventory-related inquiries from Sales, Customer Service/Order Entry, Demand Planning, and Warehouse Control Communicate inventory positions, order status, and operational risks clearly and in a timely manner Support alignment across teams on priorities, service levels, and day-to-day execution KPI Reporting & Operational Data Track and report inventory KPIs including inventory turns, fill rate, order accuracy, on-time delivery, and backorders Prepare accurate operational reports and summaries for the operations team and leadership Maintain data accuracy and consistency across ERP, WMS, and reporting systems Vendor & Shipment Coordination Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with vendors, carriers, and warehouse teams Track vendor performance related to lead times, fill rates, and shipment accuracy Communicate shipment status, delays, and risks to relevant internal stakeholders Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, streamline workflows, and reduce operational inefficiencies Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist in developing or updating SOPs Job Requirements Required Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) 4+ years of experience in an inventory, operations, supply chain, or logistics role Hands-on experience with inventory management and order processing Clear and effective communication skills with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Service, and Warehouse operations Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a problem-solving mindset Preferred Experience working with vendors, carriers, and/or 3PL partners Familiarity with KPI reporting or dashboarding tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment Core Competencies Inventory accuracy and lifecycle management Cross-functional communication and collaboration Data integrity and attention to detail Order fulfillment and operational support Process awareness and continuous improvement mindset We are an equal opportunity employer and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
