Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly pay rate for this position is $39.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Technician-Complex!
The Technician - Complex is responsible for performing highly complex repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. This role involves installing new units, ensuring proper operation and configuration, and providing expertise in specialized areas. The Technician - Complex ensures compliance with the highest safety standards and may train other technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance Team: Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Move facility equipment and parts throughout the facility using a variety of material handling equipment, including hoists and cranes. Production Equipment Maintenance Team: Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs of production equipment and other equipment supporting the production operations team. Install and configure new units, ensuring proper operation and compliance with specifications. Use advanced tools and equipment, including overhead cranes, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and lift trucks. Perform preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and routine activities such as lubrication. Obtain and interpret complex schematics and technical manuals to complete repairs. Utilize hand tools and basic power tools effectively. Perform basic computer tasks using Microsoft Office, CMMS, and Oracle to order parts. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities. Support LPS problem-solving activities by acting as a key contributor in problem-solving meetings and assisting members of their team to fulfil the recommendations resulting from LPS activities. Train and coach junior technicians as needed, setting the standard for work quality and standard operation procedures. Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Attend in-person or virtual meetings as requested or required. Communicate effectively and respectfully with others. Other responsibilities as assigned.
What you’ll Need To Succeed:
High School diploma or acceptable General Educational Development (GED), some college preferred. Valid Driver’s License. Completion of hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical training courses from a community college; or trade school education in a related field; or
Associate's degree in a related field.
Refrigeration repair certification. NFPA 70E training. PLC certifications 7+ years of experience in a related role, such as automotive, mechanical, or HVAC. Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, hydraulic systems, electronic, and pneumatic controls. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to adequately maintain and repair facilities systems consistently. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve maintenance-related issues with little guidance and oversight. Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and technical manuals. Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned repair requests. Ability to use basic hand tools (i.e. Screwdrivers, hammers, etc.) and power tools. Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and be trained in repairing various facility systems and structures within an industrial setting. Sound communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of departments. Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department. Ability to work at heights and use various lifting equipment safely. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS software. Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements. Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team. Advanced HVAC knowledge. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
Physical demands:
Continuously working indoors in an air-conditioned manufacturing-based environment. Infrequently exposed to fumes/vapors/dust/gases/odors/mist/toxic chemicals/vibration/grease/oils/lasers/other etc. Continuously exposed to moderate noise levels, including machinery and forklifts. Infrequently working with the risk of scalding/burns/other etc. Infrequently exposed to wet humid/outdoor weather/extreme cold (non-weather)/extreme heat (non-weather) conditions/other etc. Continuously working with machinery with moving parts/vehicles/forklifts/heavy machinery/sharp objects/other etc.
