    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate Manufacturing Engineer to join our Powertrain & Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Team in San Carlos, CA. The Manufacturing Engineer will own the manufacturing equipment design and process development of Joby Aviation aircraft battery modules, working closely with a cross-functional team. This individual must be highly organized and self-driven, with a deep understanding of mechanical, process, and industrial engineering fundamentals, to successfully scale projects from prototype to low-volume production while maintaining a vision for high-volume production. This position is exciting and rewarding, as the Manufacturing Engineer will promptly see their ideas influence many key areas due to the fast pace of Joby Aviation.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Own and improve existing production workstations, tools and procedures</li>\n <li>Own design of new processes, tools, and equipment for upcoming projects</li>\n <li>Directly collaborate with Production team to support training</li>\n <li>Author Manufacturing Execution System (MES) procedures for Production team to use.</li>\n <li>Participate in cross functional work with Product Design and Test teams on current process/equipment/tool development</li>\n <li>Participate in program level strategy decisions</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent</li>\n <li>2+ years of relevant industry experience</li>\n <li>Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Passion for diving into the details and providing constructive feedback to the team and other cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Proactive, driven, and a self-starter personality</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment such as 14 CFR Part 21, ISO9001, ISO 13485, TS16949, or equivalent</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $70,304 - $110,000/yr.
