    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>South Country Co-op is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Liquor Clerk to join our team at the Northlands Liquor Store in Medicine Hat, AB. If you’re passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you!</p><p>Reporting to the Liquor Manager, the Liquor Clerk is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the liquor store. This includes stocking and displaying merchandise, operating the register, and ensuring the store is clean, safe, and well-merchandised. The role requires a proactive and professional approach to customer interaction and a solid understanding of product handling and liquor regulations.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide world-class customer service by assisting guests with purchases and inquiries</li><li>Receive and stock merchandise, rotate inventory, and replenish shelves as needed</li><li>Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions</li><li>Maintain merchandising standards, including creating endcap displays and signage</li><li>Ensure cleanliness and organization of shelves, coolers, and store areas</li><li>Adhere to provincial liquor laws and store safety procedures</li><li>Support team members as needed and help maintain a collaborative work environment</li><li>Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op&nbsp;</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum 18 years of age</li><li>Must have or be willing to obtain ProServe certification within 30 days of hire</li><li>Previous experience in liquor retail or general retail/cash handling is preferred</li><li>Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift 20–30 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally)</li><li>Strong product knowledge and understanding of provincial liquor regulations an asset</li><li>Basic computer, calculator, and POS skills</li><li>Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and professionally</li><li>Strong communication and customer service skills</li><li>Detail-oriented, reliable, and a team player</li><li>Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology</li></ul><p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong></p><p>This position requires full availability including days, evenings, and weekends.</p><p><strong>Why Work with Us?</strong></p><p>At South Country Co-op, we value our team members and are committed to their well-being and success.
