The Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical leads the design and development of assigned motor products and provides engineering expertise to support cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, validation, and manufacturing.

What you will be doing: Develops concepts and designs for new components, sub-assemblies, and motor products, including defining critical-to-quality features and validating designs through testing and analysis. Leads improvement initiatives for existing products and provides ongoing engineering support to ensure product performance, quality, and reliability. Performs product risk analysis and evaluates returned products related to customer complaints to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Supports the qualification of new or alternate vendors, components, and tooling while reviewing technical literature and marketing materials to ensure engineering accuracy. Collaborates in cross-functional and cross-cultural project teams while serving as a technical resource and mentor to less-experienced engineers.

What you need: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required; a Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for a portion of the required experience. Five to ten years of relevant experience. Experience with 3D modeling (Pro/E - Creo) Advanced Computer Skills: CAD software, complex analysis, project management, spreadsheet. Basic Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Word processing/typing, presentation/PowerPoint. Ability to travel moderately (up to 10%) as needed.
