    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">High School Art Teacher</span></span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A full-time, competitively paid teaching position at a first-rate college preparatory school for boys. </span></em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia seeks a </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">High School Art Teacher</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> charged with developing artists and creators. The teacher will develop within each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using a variety of artistic skills and techniques. The teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that engage students in drawing, painting, ceramics, and art history, and apply elements of design and modern principles of art. The teacher will demonstrate best practice techniques and instruct students in the safe and proper use of tools and equipment. The teacher will promote and nurture the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; monitoring, assisting with, and correcting academic and artistic efforts; and providing a safe environment conducive to learning and character development. In class, students will develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations, and the ability to make artistic interpretations and qualitative judgements about art.
