    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We’re looking for a </span><span style=\"color: rgb(56, 49, 47); font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34)\"><span> </span></span></span><span style=\"color: rgb(56, 49, 47); font-size: 18pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 180, 173)\">Senior Claims Adjuster, Hamilton Select </span></span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working remotely or based in Richmond, Virginia or the tri-state area</span><span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">and reporting to a Claims Manager, who is based in Richmond</span>, you will be responsible for the direct handling of high exposure casualty and/or specialty claims along with assisting in the mentoring of future claims adjusters.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">This could be a hybrid working position based in Richmond, VA, or the tri-state area, but we will consider a remote US location for appropriately qualified candidates<span>.</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review claims and related systems and processes</li>\n<li>Understand and analyze policy language and contracts</li>\n<li>Provide coverage, liability, and damages analysis for claims and ensure timely reserving and appropriate legal and indemnity payments.</li>\n<li>Draft disclaimers and reservation of rights letters</li>\n<li>Negotiate settlements, mitigate losses, and control expenses</li>\n<li>Adhere to Claims Best Practices, Key Controls, and file handling requirements</li>\n<li>Maintain a high level of communication with leadership and underwriting partners</li>\n<li>Ensure appropriate reports are timely prepared and disseminated</li>\n<li>Ensure successful implementation of key organization-wide initiatives and improvement strategies for claims and our business units</li>\n<li>Present to management, mentor new staff and identify procedural improvements</li>\n<li>Support other functional groups within the organization</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with internal corporate guidelines, processes and procedures</li>\n<li>Other duties as required by management</li>\n<li>Some travel, as required for trials &amp; mediations, etc<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Conduct Standards</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must act with integrity</li>\n<li>You must act with due skill, care and diligence</li>\n<li>You must be open and cooperative with the FCA, the PRA and other regulators</li>\n<li>You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly</li>\n<li>You must observe proper standards of market conduct</li>\n<li>You must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you require for the role</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in casualty and/or specialty claims handling or related litigation with a career history of increasing responsibility</li>\n<li>Experience handling claims in the Excess and Surplus market required</li>\n<li>Experience handling claims in all of the following divisions is preferred: General and Excess Casualty, Life Sciences, Energy, Contractors, Products, Professional and Management Liability, Allied Medical and Medical Professionals</li>\n<li>Experience working with complex coverage issues required</li>\n<li>Multi-jurisdictional claims and litigation experience required</li>\n<li>Adjuster license and or certifications desired but not required</li>\n<li>Highly advanced knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, regulation, coverage, liability, damage evaluation, and/or settlement with exposures in excess of $1M</li>\n<li>Strong negotiating, analytical, written, and organizational skills</li>\n<li>Mediation and arbitration experience preferred</li>\n<li>Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and in-house claims systems)</li>\n<li>Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines</li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team</li>\n<li>Excellent at establishing close working relationships with other departments, including underwriting, operations, finance, IT, actuarial and legal<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you can expect from us</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer a vibrant, entrepreneurial, and collaborative culture guided by our values: Be Smart, Be Sensible, Be Open and Be More.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We know if we welcome and respect differences, we’ll attract and retain talent that brings a valuable diversity of perspectives and experience.
