Purpose of the Position:
Coordinate with Warehouse, Inventory Manager, and Production Team to maintain necessary color bar inventory for Seattle & Redmond locations Tracking, measuring, processing and documenting color bar inventory at California Production facility and Warehouse. Review and analyze Production outcomes with QC and Production Managers to optimize progress, quality, and efficiency. Primary Duties:
Review weekly color order(s) with on hand inventory against Production Planning doc to insure quantities ordered are enough to fill schedule. Communicate to inventory manager when inventory levels fall below company standard. Assist with content of weekly Production email to QC and Production Managers to inform them of the color schedule, custom orders, specialty product, color tests coming their way Coordinate updates or changes to the color schedule and communicate those changes to team. Ensure that glassblowers receive daily notes on any specialty colors they may be making that day. Maintain and update in-house color inventory tracking systems for all in-coming orders, outgoing and returning bar from hotshop floor. Update color bar inventory sheet with updated color info such as drop size, pick-up temperatures and new/re-named products. Ensure that all left over and returning color bar from production is properly accounted for in the system. Retrieve unused color bar and frit from hotshop floor and check it for cracks or contamination that would render it un-usable, report losses to Inventory Manager. Physically return re-useable color bar to inventory when possible. Responsible for training and providing guidance to support staff. When necessary meet with QC and Production Managers to go over reoccurring issues with color bar; Track and receive all P.O.’s in Netsuite and Outlook docs, validate incoming shipments against original order and invoices. Fulfill, unpack and stock internal color bar transfers. Perform negative inventory and high-volume color bar spot checks. Investigate and report large variances, all adjustments must be reviewed by the Inventory Manager. Participate in companywide inventory counts. Report any color manufacturing issues to maintain product consistency to R&D manager. Ability to use weekly production forecast and hot shop calendar to match products and quantities to each team based on overall team stats, individual skills, complexity of product, availability of color, and inventory levels. Measurements of Performance (ongoing):
Maintain accurate color inventory in both physical and virtual locations. Contribution to efficient operating procedures including efficient cost saving use of color bar. Manage multiple tasks and projects in an efficient, organized, and detailed manner. Work as a proactive, supportive, self-directed team member, upholding a positive attitude and setting a good example at all times. Communicate clearly with teams providing transparency into color inventory & production. Education/Experience/Certifications/Licenses:
High School diploma or GED. At least one year of experience on the glassybaby production team or 3 years of experience of production glass blowing highly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate with many departments/people in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work independently, self-starter with strong time managements skills Math computation/data entry skills Clerical/record keeping skills. High standard of attention to detail. Professional, courteous, and clear verbal and written communication skills. Excellent work ethic. Ability to multitask, managing many different projects with varying degrees of urgency and frequent changes. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel. Strong understanding of production processes. Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, or adjust/move objects in all directions up to 35 pounds Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds. Frequent standing and occasional sitting and walking. Must be able to speak and hear well enough to conduct conversations. Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to work in an environment where noise level is usually moderate. Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; must be able to reach with hands and arms.
