    "description": "<h2>The Opportunity</h2>\n<p><strong>We are seeking a Lead Inspectors for our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) practice in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Lead Inspector, you will monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents.  The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, is enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Monitor the work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues</li>\n  <li>Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work </li>\n <li>Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work</li>\n <li>Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests</li>\n <li>Track/measure completed work quantities for payment</li>\n <li>Perform survey checks</li>\n <li>Manage the team of inspectors, coordinate their schedules, and oversee their work and records</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>To be successful in this role, you must:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have a high school diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.</li>\n <li>Have experience in construction inspection, including exposure to bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a degree in civil engineering.</li>\n <li>Have supervised multiple inspectors and been directly responsible for all inspection requirements related to the construction operations assigned. </li>\n <li>Have current MDOT Certifications.</li>\n <li>Have a valid driver's license, be insurable, and be able to safely operate a vehicle on the highway and on construction sites. </li>\n <li>Have a passion for working outside and a tolerance for exposure to the elements.</li>\n <li>Possess advanced organizational, problem-solving, prioritization, communication, and leadership skills.</li>\n <li>Have the ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with others.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Certifications / Credentials:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>OSHA 10 Hour</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Benefits:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Paid Vacation, Personal Time Off, and Holiday Pay</li>\n <li>401(k) with Company Match</li>\n <li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>Certification and Licensure Support</li>\n <li>Career Advancement Opportunities</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance</li>\n <li>Cellphone Stipend</li>\n <li>Company Vehicle</li>\n <li>And much more!</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-KZ1</p>\n<p>If this sounds like the role for you and you're ready to join an amazing team, please apply.</p>\n<p>#LI-KZ1</p>\n<p><strong><em>An Equal Opportunity Employer.
