    "description": "<h2>Position Summary</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Tacten</strong> is currently seeking <strong>Industrial Rescue Technician</strong> to support projects in the <strong>Atlantic Region</strong>. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Confined Space & High Angle Rescue Technician is responsible for providing rescue standby coverage, emergency response, and technical rescue services in industrial, construction, mining, hydroelectric, marine, and oil & gas environments. The technician performs rescue readiness assessments, equipment inspections, hazard evaluations, and emergency rescue operations involving confined spaces, work at height, fall protection systems, and difficult-to-access locations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is <strong>project-based work starting in July and extending through October 2026</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Work schedules may include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Day and night shifts</li>\n <li>Rotational schedules</li>\n <li>Overtime</li>\n <li>Travel to client sites throughout the region</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a great development</strong>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Rescue Operations</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide dedicated confined space and high angle rescue standby coverage during work activities.</li>\n <li>Execute emergency rescue operations involving: Confined spaces, Work at heights, Fall arrest incidents, Industrial structures, Underground facilities, Hydroelectric facilities</li>\n <li>Perform patient packaging and evacuation utilizing rescue litters, SKED stretchers, rescue baskets, and mechanical advantage systems.</li>\n <li>Establish and operate rescue systems including raising, lowering, hauling, and attendant rescue systems.</li>\n <li>Participate in rescue drills, simulations, and emergency response exercises.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Rescue Planning & Risk Assessment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Review rescue plans, permits, and hazard assessments prior to work commencement.</li>\n <li>Conduct site inspections to identify rescue challenges and emergency access requirements.</li>\n <li>Assist in developing rescue plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Procedures (SWPs), and emergency response plans.</li>\n <li>Verify rescue equipment and personnel readiness before entry or work at height activities begin.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Equipment Management</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Inspect, maintain, and document rescue equipment including:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Harnesses</li>\n  <li>Lifelines</li>\n  <li>Tripods</li>\n  <li>Winches</li>\n  <li>SRLs</li>\n  <li>Rope systems</li>\n  <li>Rescue litters</li>\n  <li>Breathing apparatus</li>\n  <li>Medical equipment</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Ensure equipment inspections are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable standards.</li>\n <li>Identify defective equipment and remove it from service.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Emergency Medical Response</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide first aid and patient care within the scope of certification.</li>\n <li>Monitor entrant health and wellbeing during confined space operations.</li>\n <li>Coordinate emergency response with site emergency personnel, ambulance services, fire departments, and client representatives.</li>\n <li>Maintain emergency medical supplies and rescue response equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Safety Leadership</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Promote a strong safety culture and intervene when unsafe conditions are identified.</li>\n <li>Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, and incident investigations.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Regulations</li>\n  <li>Confined Space Regulations</li>\n  <li>Fall Protection Regulations</li>\n  <li>Company Procedures</li>\n  <li>Client Standards</li>\n  <li>Rescue Industry Best Practices</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Confined Space Rescue Technician Certification.</li>\n <li>High Angle Rope Rescue Technician Certification.</li>\n <li>Standard First Aid and CPR.</li>\n <li>Fall Protection Certification.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license.</li>\n <li>Ability to pass site-specific medical, drug, and alcohol testing requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>IRATA or SPRAT Rope Access Certification.</li>\n <li>NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Technician.</li>\n <li>NFPA 1006 Confined Space Rescue Technician.</li>\n <li>Advanced Medical First Responder (AMFR).</li>\n <li>Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).</li>\n <li>WHMIS.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Core Competencies</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of confined space hazards, controls, and rescue requirements.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in rope rescue, high angle rescue, and technical rescue systems.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of mechanical advantage systems, patient packaging, and rescue equipment setup.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with industrial rescue equipment, rescue standards, and safe work practices.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret rescue plans, permits, drawings, and procedures.</li>\n <li>Strong hazard recognition and risk assessment skills.</li>\n <li>Effective communication and leadership skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a rescue team.</li>\n <li>Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and rescue readiness.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Performance Expectations</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain rescue readiness at all times
