    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:</span><br></p>\n<p>As a IRL Technologist you will perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests, and interpret results to determine donor-recipient compatibility. You will resolve compatibility problems; provide intermediate reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services. Perform automated and manual test procedures on blood samples </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resolving compatibility problems, and providing complex reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samples.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of patient and donor blood samples and documenting supply and equipment problems.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing reagent inventory (ordering, receiving, inspection and preparation).  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognizing/resolving testing irregularities and assisting other Medical Technologists in problem resolution.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Consulting with staff at other medical facilities, to resolve complex serologic problems and providing special units to transfusion recipients.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Performing manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Standard Schedule: Monday thru Friday 2nd Shift 2:30pm-11pm   </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>MT(ASCP)  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree with major in biological science or chemistry  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>MLT (ASCP) certification with 5 years of blood banking experience can be substituted. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>State license may be required where applicable. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Skills &amp; Abilities: Good written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to work on a team.  <br> </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):</span>   </p>\n<ul>\n<li>BB(ASCP) or SBB and/or experience in a Reference Laboratory </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements:</span> <br>Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time.
