This is successfully accomplished by understanding, accurately specifying, and adhering to customer requirements, utilizing and applying quality tools and methods and pursuing continuous improvement in all aspects of product and process design. These efforts will have a direct impact on reducing labor and material costs, while improving value, reliability, and performance. The associate will plan and manage product design engineering activities related to conceptualization, product design, and manufacturing process functions. </p>\n<p>This is an Engineer level III role at Springs, considered a <strong>senior‑level engineering role</strong> with significant autonomy, responsibility for medium‑scope projects, and cross-functional collaboration.</p>\n<p>Product and Textile Engineering support both the “New Product Development” and “Run the Business” activities. From simple changes and updates to complex development projects. These team members design, develop, and validate the components and assemblies that are sold through our Retail, Dealer, and Commercial channels.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Concept Development (30%)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify consumer and market needs; translate them into product requirements using QFD and other structured design tools.</li>\n <li>Develop multiple concepts and functional prototypes for evaluation.</li>\n <li>Participate in consumer focus groups and market research activities.</li>\n <li>Reduce early concepts to commercially viable solutions.</li>\n <li>Create mechanical drawings and 3D models.</li>\n <li>Support evaluation of concept patentability and help identify potential IP risks.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Design Development (50%)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate and prioritize design and engineering activities based on NPD and product management goals.</li>\n <li>Design products and components with emphasis on safety, durability, reliability, manufacturability, value, and ease of assembly.</li>\n <li>Contribute to both short-term and long-term design and development planning.</li>\n <li>Establish design specifications, select materials, and evaluate potential suppliers.</li>\n <li>Estimate product and tooling costs and assist with project justification.</li>\n <li>Facilitate design reviews across functional groups and integrate manufacturability feedback into designs.</li>\n <li>Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations related to engineering activities.</li>\n <li>Maintain engineering files, drawings, and documentation in accordance with internal standards.</li>\n <li>Interface with suppliers and purchasing to resolve supplier-related quality issues.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Administrative & Continuous Improvement (20%)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, and Marketing teams to introduce new product concepts and improve existing products.</li>\n <li>Support and follow the New Product Development stage-gate process.</li>\n <li>Review patents and help assess potential patent risks.</li>\n <li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (root-cause analysis, corrective actions, 5S, process improvements).</li>\n <li>Maintain and organize lab areas according to 5S principles.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in Engineering with a minimum of <strong>6+ years of relevant engineering experience</strong>.</li>\n <li>Must be flexible with assignments, able to work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.</li>\n <li>Must be organized, methodical, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and capable of meeting established timelines.</li>\n <li>Receives direction from the Engineering Manager.
