Develops and promotes good relations among the school community: parents, staff, administration, and other community members. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only. An ability to perform social, emotional, behavioral and academic assessments to maximize student achievement and success. Ability to assess and provide intervention services to students who exhibit special needs and monitor progress. Demonstrate familiarity of diagnostic tools and assessments for students of all levels. Provide school-based, multi-tiered counseling, as well as, social, emotional and behavioral intervention services to individuals, groups, and parents; including ongoing direct services to students with developmental and emotional disabilities. Prioritize time effectively, working with building administration to identify yearly specific goals and priorities for services. Engage in individual and school-wide safety implementation; including crisis response, prevention assessment and intervention for students at-risk of harm to self or others. Strong communication, organization and planning skills. Demonstrate cultural competence and leadership. Positively impact achievement and differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement. Demonstrate problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, staff, parents and administrators. Willing to support and actively participate in a Professional Learning Community. Ability to work cooperatively and engage in active participation with teachers, teaching assistants and other mental health and special education personnel to provide intervention and consultation regarding the needs of students. Develop positive working relationships with community agencies/resources. Engage in ongoing professional growth and building/district professional activities. Adhere to the professional ethical standards and guidelines developed by the National Association of Social Workers. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%] MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : All out-of-district applicants will be screened by a mental health coordinator prior to being considered for this position. Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire. REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS : All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired. Hold a valid Colorado Special Services License PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. LCSW preferred for social workers, not required Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT : Light physical effort. Lifting up to ten (10) pounds.
