Job Summary
Reports to the Director of Development for the Quillen College of Medicine. Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy, including digital platforms, affinity groups, mentorship programs, and regional chapters to connect alumni with current students, faculty, and the college's initiatives. Oversee the planning, budgeting, and delivery of high-impact alumni events, including annual reunions, homecoming and tailgate gatherings, regional networking receptions, and virtual webinars, targeting year-over-year growth in attendance. Partner with the development team to identify major gift prospects from the alumni base, integrating engagement data into fundraising pipelines and supporting campaigns (like Forever ETSU) tied to college priorities. Implement donor-centric stewardship protocols to nurture alumni as loyal supporters. Lead the Quillen Alumni Association board, facilitating governance, strategic planning, and alignment with donor relations best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in alumni relations, advancement, or higher education fundraising. Experience working with physicians and medical professionals. Proven track record in event planning and execution, including managing budgets and cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of donor stewardship principles, CRM systems, and data-driven engagement strategies. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office Suite, event management software, and analytics platforms. Demonstrated success in volunteer engagement and advisory board management. Experience in building and executing social media content plans and communication plans. Willingness to travel for alumni events, work local weekend events, host evening virtual board meetings, and represent Quillen at national conferences. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and be a self-starter. Strong teamwork aptitude and excellent customer service skills. Ability to handle confidential information.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. 3-5 years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, or higher education fundraising. Experience in a medical or healthcare education setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree. 5-7 years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, or higher education fundraising.
