Develop an understanding of Seminole Electric&rsquo;s computer application processes, programs, and systems to the degree that assignments will be accomplished in an efficient manner. This role will be responsible for computer hardware/software support, network communications, cyber security monitoring, software patching, scripting and other technology related projects.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications and Education Requirements</strong></p><p>Working towards a Bachelor&#39;s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or equivalent in formal education. Co-op students are expected to be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester, maintain a 2.75 GPA, and work approximately 20 hours a week.</p><p><em>Core Competencies</em>: Adaptable, Collaborative, Conscientious, Critical-Thinking, Outcome-Driven and Professional&nbsp;</p><p><em>Technical Competencies/Skills</em>:</p><ul><li>Understanding of Windows Operating systems</li><li>Sound math and analytical skills</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications</li><li>Knowledge of programming languages such as JAVA, C++, PowerShell</li><li>Understanding of cyber security principles</li><li>Basic understanding of computer networking and communications</li><li>Create documentation</li><li>Communicate work progress and status to all stakeholders and escalate appropriately</li><li>Knowledge of basic IT Asset Management practices</li><li>Basic understanding of Power System principles or electrical systems</li></ul><p><em>Soft Competencies/Skills</em>:</p><ul><li>Effective verbal, listening and written communications</li><li>Detail Oriented</li><li>Ability to learn and use new software applications/packages</li><li>Planning</li><li>Strong interpersonal/organizational skills</li><li>Ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Work in team environment</li><li>Follow written policies and procedures&nbsp;</li><li>Time Management</li><li>Interacts with company employees at various levels</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Aid in the day-to-day information technology operations by assisting Business Technology staff to administer and troubleshoot hardware/software systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor control systems for both reliable operation and cyber security vulnerabilities. &nbsp;</li><li>Support cyber security compliance tasks. &nbsp;</li><li>Support the Help Desk in resolving problem tickets and support requests.</li><li>Review and collect daily data, logs, and alarms for NERC compliance reporting criteria.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate in working groups and meetings pertaining to project involvement.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in patch management.</li><li>Assist in some program development</li><li id=\"isPasted\">Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole&rsquo;s Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in &ldquo;audit-ready&rdquo; form as applicable and directed. &nbsp;You should also be familiar with Seminole&rsquo;s Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole&rsquo;s compliance program and the context of your duties and responsibilities attendant to your designation in the SOM.</li><li>Perform other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><p>Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). &nbsp; &nbsp;Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><p>Generally accepted office conditions. &nbsp;Some travel to Seminole Electric&rsquo;s Backup Control Center and generating stations may be required.
