Description

A Pipefitter III will assist in the assembly, layout, installation and maintenance of pipe systems. Pipefitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site including in buildings, outside, and inside structures, i.e., tanks or boilers. The work may also include working in underground (excavations) areas and working at heights more than 300 ft. Read and interpret blueprints Apply mathematics to solve problems Assist in fabricating and installing gaskets and pipe fit Assist in performing cutting/threading operations using a machine Assist in using measuring tools and portable power tools Assist in making decisions based on measurable criteria Assist in testing pipe and tube installations Assist in securing pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers Assist in fabricating and installing pipe systems, hangers, supports, valves and components Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation Assist in rigging material and equipment Assist in fabricating pipe systems and piping spools Perform clean up duties and spotting on all activities Elevated work under 6ft or 6ft and higher Use hand tools and power tools Assist in cutting pipe with bandsaw, cutting disc and cutting material with oxygen/acetylene torch and plasma cutter Assist in running a beveling machine and ability to bevel pipe Assist in bolt up equipment and flangers Assist in thread pipe Assist in layout piping systems Assist in performing hydrostatic and pneumatic tests Assist in performing other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards A Pipefitter III will assist in the assembly, layout, installation and maintenance of pipe systems.
