    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p>POSITION SUMMARY<br><br>DEFINITION<br><br>Under general direction, provides direct supportive care to patients. May perform designated procedures under supervision of the Registered Nurse or Physician within their scope of practice.<br><br>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS<br><br>Education<br><br>Education supplemented by vocational training in para-medical program (EMT-1 or Paramedic). Or an accredited LVN program as evidenced by licensure.<br><br>Experience:<br><br>Previous experience as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-1, paramedic or LVN) preferred but not required.<br><br><strong>License or Certificate:<br><br>BLS certification&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>EMT certification or Licensed Paramedic<br>Or current California LVN licensure with IV certification<br>Phlebotomy State Certification (if not licensed paramedic or LVN with IV cert)<br>Basic arrhythmia (preferred)<br></strong><br><br><br>KNOWLEDGE &amp; ABILITIES<br><br><br>Knowledge of:<br><br>Anatomy and physiology<br><br>Medical modalities.<br><br>Basic arrhythmia<br><br>Basic EMT procedures.<br><br>Modern office equipment, information system and software programs<br><br>Report writing.<br><br>Ability to:<br><br>Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.<br><br>Keep abreast of developments in the field of expertise.<br><br>Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.<br><br>Prepare necessary reports and records.<br><br>Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.<br><br><br><br><br>AGE OF PATIENTS COMPETENCIES (if applicable)<br><br>Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.</p></div></div>\n",
