    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p><br></p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Hygienist&nbsp;</strong></p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Reports to:&nbsp;</strong>Dentist / Operations Leader</p><p><strong>FLSA Status:&nbsp;</strong>Non - Exempt (Hourly)</p><p><strong>Department:&nbsp;</strong>Operations</p><p><strong>Employment Status:</strong> At-Will</p><p><strong>Incentive Eligibility:&nbsp;</strong>Eligible</p><p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p><p>The Hygienist is responsible for cleaning patients&rsquo; teeth and examining oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. Educating patients on oral hygiene, take and develop x-rays, and apply fluoride or sealants. Performing quality and effective hygiene procedures while building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with patients. The Hygienist is responsible for the patient&#39;s excellent experience and contributes to the overall financial success of the practice.</p><p><strong>The tasks and responsibilities of a Hygienist include but are but not limited to:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide superior patient care and service. Exhibit outstanding service and hospitality.</li><li>Record and review patient medical histories.</li><li>Examine gums, wing probes to locate periodontally recessed gingiva, periodontal pockets and signs of gum disease. Palpate and visually examine gums for signs of disease.</li><li>Palpate lymph nodes in and around the neck to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate presence of oral cancer.</li><li>Educate our patients on the importance of preventing, diagnosing, and treating periodontal disease. Discuss the links between periodontal conditions and systemic illness.</li><li>Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments. Apply fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents staving off dental decay.</li><li>Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.</li><li>Maintain dental equipment and sharpen and sterilize dental instruments.</li><li>Expose and develop x-ray film.</li><li>Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public.</li><li>Practice to the standard of care of the State Board of Dentistry.
