    "description": "<p>Our Navy Systems team located in York, PA custom design, develop, manufactures, ships, installs, and maintains industrial HVAC equipment for Navy vessels of all sizes.  This job consists of duties required to operate a CNC controlled horizontal machining center with a rotary table and 14 feet of travel.  Operation includes handling machine equipped with 100 position automatic tool change system, PC based tool management/preset system, part probe, broken tool detection, adaptive control and horsepower monitor and is DNC linked.<br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location:</span> Grantley Plant in York, PA<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Shift:</span> 1st Shift and/or 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Pay:</span> </p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CNC Machine Operators</span></span> starts at $34.08/per hour</li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualified \"Journeyman\"</span></span> starts at $43.31/ per hour<br>* 2nd Shift pays and additional $2.00 / hour</li>\n<li>Bonus Eligible: Yes</li>\n<li>Union<span style=\"font-weight: bold\">:</span> This is a bargaining unit (union) position.<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits: </span>Eligible for benefits on first day of employment<br><br>* Relocation assistance may be available.  Conditions apply.<br><br><br>Learn more about Navy Systems York, PA Plant:   <a href=\"https://youtu.be/AD9TF3ANMxU?si=udA_MxgtpngyuRdM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Navy Systems, York PA</a></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">How you will do it:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use tool preset machine, precision measuring instruments, hand and hand power tools, deburr tools and appropriate material handling equipment</li>\n<li>Work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, tape program, instructions, or visual display units.</li>\n<li>Perform fixture change-overs, loading and unloading of production parts, on-line piece parts inspection and manual data input to insure specified finishes, tolerances.</li>\n<li>Maintain tooling and backup tooling (where necessary).</li>\n<li>Monitor control messages and take appropriate corrective action.</li>\n<li>Perform utility functions to maintain process.</li>\n<li>Will perform housekeeping and deburr internal to machining operations.</li>\n<li>Fills out PM check lists and may assist in the PM of the machine.</li>\n<li>Use all types of precision measuring instruments including but not limited to  ID and OD micrometers up to 130 inches, calipers up to 130 inches, parallels up to 48 inches, depth gauges, height gauges, plug and ring gauges. <br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instrument, process sheets, program tapes.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of N/C controlled machines and shop practices equivalent to 1 to 2 years trades training.</li>\n<li>Judgment required to plan, perform, make general decisions within prescribed quality, tolerance, limitations.</li>\n<li>Ability to perform moderate physical effort working continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight materials</li>\n<li>Must be able to work on Federal Defense contract that requires US Citizenship.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with set-up and operation of CNC machines, preferably with Horizontal Boring Mills, SNK, and Mori Seiki.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br><br>Who We Are</span><br>The primary mission of Johnson Controls Navy Systems is to supply Chilled Water Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Systems and associated equipment to the US Navy and US Coast Guard.
