The Forensic Mental Health Clinician provides evaluations, risk assessments, crisis intervention and group and individual treatment in a correctional setting.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Advocates promotes a healthy work-life balance and offers many generous perks of employment and room for advancement.  We are a strong-knit community that values the ideas and contributions of our staff.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Are you ready to make a difference?</strong></p>\n<h2>Minimum Education Required</h2>Master's Degree\n<h2>Shift</h2>First Shift\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide comprehensive clinical assessments including inmates placed on suicide watch and those inmates who submit sick call slips</li>\n <li>Provide ongoing evaluation and psychological monitoring of all inmates on psychiatric medication</li>\n <li>Screen inmates for possible mental health conditions.</li>\n <li>Respond to crisis calls from jail staff and/or family members </li>\n <li>Attend daily triage meetings</li>\n <li>Maintain necessary documentation to include, assessments, watch forms, medication verification sheets, file notes, and treatment plans</li>\n <li>Assist with segregation, restraint, and Department of Correction evaluations.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s Degree in related counseling field and at least one year of relatable experience. </li>\n <li>Degree must be eligible for independent licensure </li>\n <li>Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.</li>\n <li>Basic computer knowledge.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills. </li>\n <li>Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.</li>\n <li>Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Advocates is committed to cultivating a diverse and welcoming community where everyone feels respected and valued.
