    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<h2>This Opportunity</h2><p>We are seeking a highly motivated <strong>Senior Sustainability Engineer</strong> to support the planning, design, construction, and operation of aviation infrastructure and facilities through the implementation of sustainable engineering practices. This role will serve as a technical resource for sustainability initiatives, capital improvement projects, and environmental performance programs, helping achieve organizational goals related to carbon reduction, energy efficiency, resource conservation, resiliency, and sustainable development.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>This position will be based out of our <strong>Atlanta, GA location</strong>.</p><h2>Your Impact</h2><ul><li>Integrate sustainable engineering principles into planning, design, and construction projects.</li><li>Perform sustainability analyses related to energy consumption, water conservation, waste reduction, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental performance.</li><li>Support development and implementation of sustainability master plans, decarbonization strategies, climate action plans, and resilience initiatives.</li><li>Evaluate renewable energy technologies and emerging sustainability solutions.</li><li>Assist with preparation of technical specifications, procurement documents, and sustainability requirements.</li><li>Support grant applications and sustainability funding opportunities.</li><li>Contribute to LEED, Envision, Parksmart, and similar certification programs.</li><li>Prepare technical reports, presentations, performance metrics, and executive communications.</li><li>Support ESG reporting and sustainability benchmarking initiatives.</li><li>Conduct research on industry best practices and emerging technologies.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project teams.</li><li>Support waste management, recycling, and resource conservation initiatives.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2>Who You Are</h2><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in sustainability engineering, environmental design, energy management, infrastructure planning, or related fields.</li><li>Professional Engineering license preferred, similar licensure, or ability to obtain. Additional years of experience considered in lieu of license.</li><li>Demonstrated experience integrating sustainable design principles into planning, design, and construction projects.</li><li>Experience collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and other stakeholders to implement sustainability initiatives and project objectives.</li><li>Experience evaluating and implementing sustainability measures, including energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, carbon reduction strategies, water conservation, waste diversion, resiliency, or climate adaptation initiatives.</li><li>Experience developing, supporting, or implementing sustainability plans, decarbonization strategies, climate action plans, or environmental performance programs.</li><li>Experience supporting sustainability initiatives for buildings, transportation, aviation, municipal, industrial, or infrastructure projects.</li><li>Strong understanding of sustainability performance metrics and lifecycle cost analysis.</li><li>Experience analyzing operational performance and identifying opportunities to improve energy usage, water consumption, waste diversion, greenhouse gas emissions, and overall environmental performance.</li><li>Experience performing technical evaluations of sustainability opportunities and developing business cases that quantify environmental, operational, and financial benefits.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.</li><li>Strong understanding of sustainability engineering principles and best practices.</li><li>Knowledge of energy systems, renewable energy technologies, environmental stewardship, and sustainability reporting frameworks.</li><li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.</li><li>Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong organizational and project management abilities.</li><li>Ability to evaluate and implement innovative sustainability solutions.<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Master's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field.</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) registration.</li><li>LEED AP, Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), WELL AP, or similar credential.</li><li>Experience with aviation, airport, transportation, or other large-scale infrastructure programs.</li><li>Familiarity with sustainability certification programs such as LEED, Envision, Parksmart, WELL, and SITES.</li><li>Experience supporting Airports Carbon Accreditation (ACA), ESG reporting, greenhouse gas inventories, carbon accounting, or climate resilience initiatives.</li><li>Experience securing and administering sustainability grants or funding programs.</li><li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM platforms, energy modeling software, or sustainability analytics tools.</li><li>Knowledge of contracting, procurement, and capital project delivery processes.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>#LI-AC1<br>&nbsp;</p>",
