Responsibilities
As a Safety Manager in Brooklyn NYC, NY , you’ll lead the charge in building a culture where safety is more than a priority — it’s a core value. You’ll ensure best practices are implemented, compliance standards are met, and every team member goes home safe each day.
As a Site Safety and Health Officer, you’ll support safety oversight for a dredging/marine construction project in Brooklyn, NY. Safety is more than a priority — it’s a core value.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily onsite safety oversight in accordance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements
Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain written safety logs
Review and enforce APPs, AHAs, and site-specific safety procedures
Conduct site safety orientations for employees, subcontractors, and visitors
Track and follow up on safety deficiencies through resolution
Support incident/near-miss investigations and required reporting
Ensure subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements
Participate in pre-work, preparatory, and progress meetings as needed
Qualifications
Experience as an SSHO or Safety Professional on USACE, marine, dredging, or heavy civil projects preferred
EM 385-1-1 40 Hour required
OSHA 30 required
First Aid/CPR certification within the last 2 years required
Strong working knowledge of APPs, AHAs, daily reporting, and field safety documentation
Ability to be onsite full-time for the duration of the project
Proficient Microsoft Office skills
