To learn more about our work, please go to our official website at <a href=\"http://www.refugees.org/\" target=\"_blank\">www.refugees.org</a>.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>OVERVIEW&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The Instructor, Childcare is responsible for coordinating activities of assistant group supervisors and aides, assisting the director with designated activities, the creation of a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of the children with an emphasis on language development and emergent literacy skills.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meet state and federal standards;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with the instructional program so as to ensure that learners meet and exceed learning targets;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages the learner responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;&bull; Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of the learner;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Implementing curriculum, completing lesson plans, and providing activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the development levels of the children;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; An Instructor, Childcare shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">(1) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">(2) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, including 600 or more hours of secondary training described in &sect; 3270.31(c) (relating to age and training).&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">(3) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate, 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">4) A high school diploma or a general education development certificate and completion of a post-secondary training curriculum described in &sect; 3270.31(c).&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">(5) A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 2 years experience with children.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Availability to work on a variable schedule;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate and build lasting relationships and partnerships with program and field office staff;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Sensitivity to the development stages and well-being of ELLs;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Highly adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding work environment;&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Must have dedication to human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced people; and&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Good sense of humor and pleasant, diplomatic manner is desired.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&bull; Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY</strong>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants is an equal opportunity employer.
