POSITION SUMMARY: The Painter is responsible for applying various types of liquid coatings, including primers, full metal jacket (FMJ) material coating, single stage topcoats, base/clear applications and sand blasting of metals. This role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision while ensuring a high quality finish on all products. WHAT YOU WILL DO: ·         Apply primer and paint with minimal or no supervision. ·         Use and maintain tint/paint mixing equipment and systems. ·         Demonstrate strong knowledge of all products to be painted. ·         Operate and maintain paint equipment and booths in top condition. ·         Troubleshoot and maintain paint equipment as needed. ·         Operate spray guns efficiently to ensure proper application. ·         Solve paint related issues and make necessary adjustments. ·         Adjust equipment to ensure optimal paint transfer. ·         Maintain a consistent and high quality finish on all products. ·         Select and mix paint to achieve required colors, sheen, and thickness. ·         Participate in job rotation within the area of Paint Department. ·         Follow housekeeping, health, and safety standards. ·         Perform daily maintenance of assigned tools and equipment. ·         Support and adhere to all Lean and 5S initiatives. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: ·         Previous automotive paint experience. ·         Physically capable of using safety equipment, such as a respirator, and other personal protective equipment. ·         Ability to read and follow intermediate measurements, possess elementary mechanical aptitude. ·         Attention to detail is a must. ·         Follow verbal and written instructions. ·         Good communication skills, ability to work with little supervision, and ability to work in a team environment.
