    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Staff Position Description</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Position Title: </strong>CT Technologist <strong>Position Code:</strong> TechCT-6148</p>\n<p><strong>Department:</strong> Imaging <strong>Safety Sensitive:</strong> YES</p>\n<p><strong>Reports to:</strong> Imaging Supervisor <strong>Exempt Status:</strong> NO</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Position Purpose:</strong></p>\n<p>All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHI’s vision of providing the region’s best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.</p>\n<table>\n <tbody>\n  <tr>\n   <td>\n    <p>Under the direction of the radiologist, performs appropriate diagnostic exams and studies to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.</p></td>\n  </tr>\n </tbody>\n</table>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong><em>[List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]</em></p>\n<table>\n <tbody>\n  <tr>\n   <td>\n    <p><strong>Evaluation and Implementation of Appropriate Care </strong></p>\n    <p>a. Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), administers ionizing radiation for the purpose of diagnosis which includes positioning the x-ray beam with respect to the patient, anatomically positioning the patient, selecting exposure factors, and initiating exposure.</p>\n    <p>b. Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging procedures to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes.</p>\n    <p>c. After reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient’s abilities and condition, selects the most appropriate patient care plan.</p>\n    <p>d. Selects appropriate shielding devices and appropriate immobilization devices.</p>\n    <p>e. Evaluates lab values prior to administering contrast media.</p>\n    <p>f. Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medications or insufficient patient preparation.</p>\n    <p>g. Reconfirms patient identification using two unique identifiers (Name and DOB) and verifies procedure requested. Verifies female patient pregnancy status when appropriate.</p>\n    <p>h. Able to recognize significant clinical information and historical facts, from the patient and from the medical record, which may impact the examination.</p>\n    <p>i. Monitors patient and equipment during procedures, accurately documents exam times (start and stop), patient reactions or problems, and reports concerns or issues immediately to supervisor.</p>\n    <p>j. Documents patient and exam occurrences in the appropriate Imaging software database, to include exam start and complete times.</p>\n    <p><strong>Quality of Care </strong></p>\n    <p>a. The technologist provides evidence-based care so as to prevent the development of a Healthcare Acquired Condition and hospital readmissions.</p>\n    <p>b. The technologist practices standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated materials.</p>\n    <p>c. The technologist complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and works to reduce hospital acquired infections and other conditions.</p>\n    <p>d. Comply with all regulatory, organizational, and departmental statutes, policies, and procedures.</p>\n    <p><strong>Patient Satisfaction: </strong></p>\n    <p>a. Regularly applies AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) as well as other evidence-based behaviors when taking care of patients. Shows empathy care to patients and family members present.</p>\n    <p>b. Actively helps the department meet the identified Patient Satisfaction goal.</p>\n    <p>c. Demonstrates regular attendance and participation at scheduled department and team meetings. Absences must be communicated as soon as practically possible.</p>\n    <p>d. Ensures all licensure, competencies, training, and education are completed in a timely manner.</p>\n    <p>e.
