The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing investment and trust accounting activities, supporting financial reporting processes, and contributing to other daily and monthly operational tasks.
This role entails a significant amount of operational processing on a daily basis. Successful employees in this position are able to work under pressure to meet daily timelines; balance repetitive tasks while ensuring transactions are recorded accurately; and ensure supporting documentation is in line with established policies.
Responsibilities
Familiarity with non-profit, fiduciary or trust accounting environments Perform daily transaction activities related to investments and client trust accounts Prepare and deliver assigned financial and operational reports accurately and on time Complete billings, reconciliations, and other recurring accounting processes Support month-end and year-end close procedures when assigned Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls Assist managers with various assignments and projects
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting, finance, or auditing Ability to learn new accounting systems Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel Demonstrated attention to detail; time management; and ability to follow corporate policies & procedures
Preferred:
Professional designations or certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA, other) Prior experience working in a CPA firm and/or prior accounting/operations experience in banking, trust, or other financial services. Familiarity with non-profit, fiduciary or trust accounting environments
