    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>We are searching for a hybrid Virtual Medical Assistant with our Texas Children's Virtual Support Center - someone to provide patient care and excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and/or non-virtual ambulatory clinics.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.”</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Think you’ve got what it takes?</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>One of the following required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certificate from the National Health career Association required</li>\n <li>CMA-AAM- Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants</li>\n <li>EMT Certified Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required</li>\n <li>EMT-A Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required</li>\n <li>EMT-B Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Basic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required</li>\n <li>EMT-I Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Intermediate from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required</li>\n <li>EMT-P Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required</li>\n <li>LIC PAR- License Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required</li>\n <li>NCMA- National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing required</li>\n <li>NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals required</li>\n <li>RMA- Registered Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants required</li>\n <li>2 years related experience required</li>\n <li>2 years Ambulatory telemedicine experience preferred</li>\n <li>Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service focused industry preferred</li>\n <li>Outpatient clinic operations experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Welcomes and interacts with all patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner</li>\n <li>Coordinates communications including phone calls, pages, faxes, etc. in a friendly, professional, and timely manner</li>\n <li>Facilitates the appointment check-in and virtual rooming procedure</li>\n <li>Performs patient registration procedures per clinic process</li>\n <li>Checks on the activation status of the patient portal. Identifies and offers access to the patient or patient proxy according to organizational guidelines</li>\n <li>Reschedules missed appointments or adds to clinic waitlist</li>\n <li>Collaborates with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow</li>\n <li>Verifies required paperwork is completed by the patient to ensure accuracy of information</li>\n <li>Validates that the appointment is able to proceed by ensuring the presence of the patient and a legal guardian.</li>\n <li>Ensures appointment is taking place in a state in which the provider is licensed. Assesses that the patient and other parties are in a safe and secure setting</li>\n <li>Completes check out for patients and families</li>\n <li>Provides education and guidance around telemedicine<br>\n  &nbsp;<br>\n  &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>",
