EMRs play a vital role in ensuring safe, compassionate, and professional patient transfers between healthcare facilities while acting as patient advocates and collaborating closely with hospital staff and allied healthcare professionals.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Current Basic Life Support (BLS) – Healthcare Provider certification</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Valid Alberta Class 4 Operator’s Licence with a clean driving abstract (5-year abstract required; no serious traffic violations)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) completed within the last six months</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Position Description</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">EMRs assigned to IFT operations are responsible for:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Providing patient care and monitoring during interfacility transfers</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Safely operating EMS vehicles in accordance with company policy and road safety regulations</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Transporting patients between hospitals, care facilities, and specialty treatment centers</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Working collaboratively with sending and receiving healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Performing patient assessments and delivering care within the EMR scope of practice</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Adhering to all Medical Control Protocols (MCPs), standard operating procedures, and company policies</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Physical Demands &amp; Work Environment</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">EMRs spend extended periods standing, walking, reaching, crouching, and bending throughout their shifts. The role requires lifting and transferring patients and equipment, sometimes in confined or awkward positions.
