Description

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (Global Energy Alliance) The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (Global Energy Alliance) works for a world where everyone has access to affordable, reliable, clean electricity and the means to use it to improve their lives. Our Alliance builds transformative public, private, philanthropic partnerships to end energy poverty and accelerate green economic opportunity. Founded in 2021 by The Rockefeller Foundation, IKEA Foundation, and Bezos Earth Fund, we design innovative projects/programs, unlock finance, strengthen institutions and transform markets, delivering progress anchored in deep community engagement. By uniting actors across the value chain, from households to heads of state, we go beyond individual projects to drive lasting systems change. With work in more than 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, our Alliance aims to reach 1 billion people with clean electricity, prevent 4 billion tons of carbon emissions and create or improve 150 million jobs. Overview In 2025, the Alliance launched a dedicated Partnerships and Philanthropy Division to expand and diversify our funding base. We are pioneering new fundraising pathways, engaging nontraditional funders, and building deep, trust-based partnerships to mobilize resources and drive systemic impact. Position Summary The Manager, Development plays a central role in building and strengthening the operational foundation of the Partnerships and Philanthropy Division at a pivotal stage of growth. Sitting at the intersection of fundraising, partnerships, strategy, and execution, the role serves as the operational owner of the fundraising infrastructure that powers the team — from CRM management and pipeline coordination to briefing preparation, reporting, and cross-functional project execution — helping to drive donor engagement, strengthen systems, and support high-impact collaboration across the Alliance. This role is best suited to an exceptionally organized, proactive, and entrepreneurial professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex work, improving how teams operate, and taking initiative in fast-paced environments. Offering significant exposure across fundraising, partnerships, and organizational strategy, this is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to deepen their experience and play a meaningful role in scaling a global mission-driven organization. Event and Special Projects Support Support Global Leadership Council operations, including engagement plan development and implementation and bilateral meeting preparation. Provide surge support on the implementation of special projects Strategic Initiatives Serve as the operational owner of GEA's fundraising infrastructure, including the CRM, pipeline tracker, and briefing cadences; design and lead continuous improvement of these systems across HQ and regional fundraising staff, and produce pipeline reports and dashboards for leadership and the Global Leadership Council. Act as a thought partner to Fundraising Directors on prioritization, deadline management, and quality control across the portfolio; supervise interns, contractors, or junior staff as the team scales, including onboarding, work allocation, and review. Requirements Skills and Experience 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development operations, strategic partnerships, or related fields.
