He/She is responsible for taking roll, greeting parents and children, teaching classes, attending scheduled meetings and creating lesson plans. &nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>Entry Requirements:</u></strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Preferred Red Cross WSI, &nbsp;YMCA Instructor Certification, or 1 year experience teaching Youth Swimming</li><li>Red Cross First Aid</li><li>Red Cross CPR with AED</li></ul><p>.</p><p><strong><u>Essential Functions Of Job:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Incorporate and Model our YMCA Christian principles into your work</li><li>Commit to establishing long-term relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, members and families</li><li>Instruct in water and lift or support 50 pounds&nbsp;</li><li>Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation</li><li>Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate instructional techniques</li><li>Be familiar with and support the Mission of the YMCA.</li><li>Position requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and swimming, sitting, standing, walking and lifting. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></p><p><strong><u>Job Segments:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Teach classes in accordance with the National YMCA Aquatics program each day of the session.</li><li>Instructors will be 15 minutes early to class to greet parents and children; will remain in pool area and help clean up pool area after classes.</li><li>Instructor will use gentleness and humor to instruct classes.</li><li>Instructor will plan class lessons and have an organized format for the day. &nbsp;Lesson plans will include character values, safety skills, songs, games and swimming practice.</li><li>Instructor will understand the mission of the YMCA &ndash;
