Trauma APPs treat patients in multiple settings and are always available to see acutely injured patients anywhere in the hospital</p>\n<p><i>Inova is consistently ranked a national healthcare leader in safety, quality and patient experience.</i> <i>We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.&nbsp;</i></p>\n<p><strong>Featured Benefits:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Committed to Team Member Health:&nbsp;</strong>offering medical, dental and vision coverage, and a robust team member wellness program.</li>\n <li><strong>Retirement:&nbsp;</strong>Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions – starting on your first day.</li>\n <li><strong>Tuition and Student Loan Assistance:&nbsp;</strong>offering<strong>&nbsp;</strong>up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans.</li>\n <li><strong>Mental Health Support:&nbsp;</strong>offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.</li>\n <li><strong>Work/Life Balance:&nbsp;</strong>offering<strong>&nbsp;</strong>paid time off, paid parental leave, flexible work schedules, and remote and hybrid career opportunities<strong>.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice Provider Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with trauma surgeons to assess and manage the care of acutely injured or critically ill surgical patients in the inpatient setting.</li>\n <li>Management of patients in the emergency department, intensive care unit, intermediate care unit, and floor.</li>\n <li>Administer medications and treatments.</li>\n <li>Monitor patients’ vital signs, laboratory values, and response to treatment.</li>\n <li>Assist or perform appropriately privileged procedures, such as central venous catheter placement, tube thoracostomy, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Obtain and maintain advanced trauma life support.</li>\n <li>Provide education to patients and their families on the plan of care and post-operative management.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding patient status and changes in condition.</li>\n <li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate and complete patient records.</li>\n <li>Rotating days, nights, and weekends</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s or Doctorate preparation from an accredited program as an adult (or adult-gero) acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant/associate</li>\n <li>Board certification as an adult (or adult-gero) acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant/associate</li>\n <li>Current state licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia</li>\n <li>DEA license required</li>\n <li>BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider with an expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice</li>\n <li>ATLS on hire, or within 3-6 months, depending on experience</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work collaboratively as part of the surgical team</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience working as an Advanced Practice Provider in a Trauma or Critical Care setting</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
